Privacy Policy
FX Lens Pro (“the app”, “we”, “us”) points your camera at a price and shows what it costs in your own currency. It is published by H&Row STUDIO. Because the app uses your camera and, if you allow it, your location, this policy says precisely what happens to each of those things. The short version: the reading happens on your phone, and we never receive anything about you.

We do not collect your data. Prices are read on your phone.
There is no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours. The text recognition that reads a price tag runs entirely on your device using an on-device model. The camera picture never leaves your phone unless you choose to save or share it yourself. We run no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising.
1. What the app does with each permission
Camera
The camera is used for one thing: reading prices. Each frame is analysed on the device by an on-device text recognition model. No frame is uploaded, stored or sent to us. A photo is saved only when you tap the shutter, and that photo goes into the app's own private storage on your phone, alongside the price it captured, so you can look back at it later.
Location (optional)
Location is off until you say yes, and the app works fully without it. If you enable it, the app uses your position while the app is open for two things: to suggest the local currency of the country you are in, and to pin your saved scans on your own travel map. To turn a position into a country name the app asks the phone's built-in geocoding service (provided by Apple on iOS and by Google on Android); that request is answered in the moment and not retained by us. Coordinates are stored only on your device, with the scan they belong to. You can revoke the permission at any time in your phone's settings.
2. Internet connections the app makes
The app needs the internet for exactly the things below, and for nothing else. None of these requests contain your name, your photos, your location or anything that identifies you; like any web request, the service you connect to sees your device's IP address for the duration of that request.
| Purpose | Who | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
| Exchange rates | ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) | The two currency codes to convert between (for example EUR and USD). Rates are cached on your phone so the app keeps working offline. |
| The travel map | Google Maps | Map tiles are loaded from Google when you open the map tab. Google's Maps software may collect device and usage information under Google's own privacy policy. The app does not hand Google your location for the map. |
| Handwriting model (optional) | Google ML Kit | If you choose to use the pen (scribble) mode, the app asks first and then downloads a small handwriting-recognition model from Google. Recognition itself then runs on your device. Nothing you write is uploaded. |
3. What is stored on your device
Everything the app keeps lives in its own private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read:
- Your saved scans: the price read, the conversion, the photo you captured, the date, and, if you allowed location, where it was
- Your travel log, built from those scans
- Your settings: home and source currency, language, exchange-rate preferences and a manual rate if you set one
- The most recent exchange rates, so conversions work with no signal
4. Backups are yours
You can create a backup of your scans and travel log. It is written to a place you control: a folder you pick on Android, or the app's own Documents folder on iOS, which you can see in the Files app. You may protect a backup with a passcode, in which case it is encrypted on your device before it is written; if you forget that passcode the backup cannot be opened, by you or by anyone, and we cannot recover it because we never had it. Backups are never sent to us.
5. Erasing your data
Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. Inside the app you can also delete any single scan, or clear your whole history, and you can delete any backup file you created. Because none of it was ever uploaded, there is nothing on our side to request, correct or delete.
6. Sharing
If you share a scan, the app hands the image to your phone's own share menu. We never receive it and do not see where it goes; the app you choose then handles it under that app's own privacy policy.
7. Children's privacy
FX Lens Pro is a general-audience utility. It collects no personal information from anyone, and therefore none from children. There is no chat, no messaging, no profiles and no user-generated content of any kind.
8. Accuracy of prices and rates
A conversion is only as good as the price the camera read and the rate available at the time. The app tells you when it is using an older, cached rate, and refuses to show a converted figure at all if it has no rate to work from. Always check the amount before you pay; the app is a convenience, not a financial service, and we are not responsible for a purchase decision made on a misread price.
9. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. In our case those rights are satisfied by design: we hold nothing. Your data sits on your device, under your control, and you can inspect or erase it at any moment without asking our permission.
10. Changes to this policy
If a future version of FX Lens Pro ever collects anything, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be described in the app's release notes on Google Play and the App Store.
