Delete your XQ Arena account
This page explains how to delete your account and data in XQ Arena, the Xiangqi (Chinese chess) game for Android and iPhone by H&Row STUDIO. It also says exactly what is removed, what is kept, and for how long.
Last updated: 25 September 2026
1. Delete inside the app (fastest)
- Open XQ Arena and tap the Settings gear at the top right of the Home screen, just right of the bell.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account, then tap Delete to confirm.
You need to be online. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you may be asked to sign in once more to prove it is you. Deletion cannot be undone. Your sign-in account and everything on your phone are erased right away, and the app is disconnected from your Google or Apple account. The rest of your data on our servers (section 4) is removed at the same time or shortly after, and always within 30 days. The app then starts again from the beginning, as a brand new guest.
If you used Sign in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke XQ Arena's access to your Apple Account, so nothing stays linked on Apple's side. You can check this on your iPhone: Settings, your name, Sign-In & Security, Sign in with Apple.
2. Guest accounts
If you never signed in, you are playing as a guest. You can delete a guest account in the app exactly as above. A guest account can only be reached from the phone it was made on, or from a phone restored from that phone's own backup, so if you already removed the app, use the email option below and tell us your player handle. Your handle is the name other players see. The app shows it on your Profile.
3. Delete without the app
If you have removed XQ Arena or cannot sign in, send us an email. You do not need to install the app again.
- Write to handrowcahyadi@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my XQ Arena account”.
- If you secured your account with Google or Apple, send the email from that account's email address. If you used Apple's Hide My Email, also send your player handle and the private relay address. You can find it on your iPhone: Settings, your name, Sign-In & Security, Sign in with Apple, XQ Arena.
- If you played as a guest, tell us your player handle and roughly when you started and last played. A guest account has no email, so we will ask for a few details only the owner would know, such as your last few opponents and the results of those games. If we cannot be reasonably sure the account is yours, we cannot delete it by email.
We check that the account is yours, delete it, and confirm by email within 30 days. The request is free.
4. What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your sign-in account, including the name and email we received from Google or Apple.
- Your public profile: handle, avatar, rating, win, loss and draw counts, and tournament wins and podium places. Your handle becomes free for someone else to use.
- Your own game history list.
- Any matchmaking queue entry and friend challenge codes you created.
- Your fair play counters, and your notification token if notifications are ever added and you turned them on.
- Your progress backup, if you signed in with Google or Apple: the one private copy of your XP, trophies, rank, streaks, Arena ladder progress, win, loss and draw counts, tournament wins and podium places, the list of tournaments whose podium trophies you were given, lessons, quests, name and settings. A guest account has none.
- From the community: your posts, with the comments and reactions under them; your comments, with the replies under them; your reactions; your follows both ways; your blocks, mutes and hidden posts; other players' blocks and mutes of you; reports about you; your bell list and the lines about you in other players' bells; your community record with its strikes and notices; and our records of moderator actions about you.
- Your place in tournaments. You leave any open tournament you joined, and an open tournament you created is cancelled and its players are told. In a tournament that is being played you withdraw: your remaining games are forfeited, so your opponents win them, and the tournament carries on without you. Your time zone offset is deleted from every tournament, with your tournament membership record and counters.
- Your country flag, if you chose one: from your profile, from every tournament, and from the record of every online game you played.
- With in-app deletion, everything saved on your phone: name, XP, trophies, rank, streaks, quests, lessons and settings. If you delete by email instead, removing the app erases what is on your phone. An older copy in your phone's own backup (iCloud on iPhone, your Google account on Android) is held by Apple or Google, not by us.
5. What is kept, and for how long
- Finished game records. The moves, clocks, results, ratings at the time and dates of the games you played stay. Your handle is replaced by “Deleted player” in the record and in your opponents' history lists. The record still carries your old random player ID. It no longer belongs to any account or profile and cannot be used to sign in. We keep these records so your opponents' histories and ratings stay correct, for as long as the service runs.
- Tournaments you played in. A tournament keeps its bracket or table, its results and its places, so the other players' records stay correct. Your name in it becomes “Deleted player”, with no flag, and it still carries your old random player ID. It is deleted automatically two years after it finished, or about 30 days after it was cancelled or expired.
- A note that the account was deleted. One line: your old random player ID and the date. It holds nothing else, and it is what stops that ID ever being given a new profile.
- Reports you sent, in the community or from a game, with no name and no note attached, so that decisions already made stay fair. They are deleted 12 months after they were reviewed.
- A ban fingerprint, only if you were banned from the community: a one-way code made from your Google or Apple sign-in, with no player ID, name or email. It stops the same Google or Apple account joining again, and it stays while the ban stands.
- Games an opponent shared. If an opponent shared a game you played together in a community post, the post stays. It never showed your name, and it does not now.
- Crash reports and usage statistics. These are not linked to your account, your name or your email, so we cannot pick yours out. They age out on Google's standard schedule: crash reports after 90 days, usage statistics after up to 14 months.
- Server logs. They hold technical details such as IP addresses, but no names, emails or handles. They are kept for about 30 days.
- Your deletion request. If you ask by email, we keep your email and our reply for 24 months, as a record that we did what you asked.
- Backups. If we keep backups of the database, each one is cleared within 30 days. Google then clears any leftover copies from its own systems on its own schedule, which Google says can take up to about 180 days.
- Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as the law requires it.
We never sell your data, before or after you delete your account.
6. Delete only some of your data
You do not have to delete everything. You can keep your account and ask us to remove part of your data. Email handrowcahyadi@gmail.com with the subject “Delete some of my XQ Arena data” and tell us what to remove. For example:
- Your handle: we reset it to an automatic one like Player-a1b2c3. You can also change your handle yourself in the app.
- Your game history list. This removes your own list only. While you keep your account, your opponents still see your handle on the games they played with you.
- Your progress backup, if you signed in with Google or Apple.
- Your country flag: you can remove it yourself in the app at any time, which also takes it off the tournaments you are in. The record of each online game keeps the flag it showed until you delete your account.
- All of your community content: your posts, comments and reactions, while you keep your account. You can also delete any post or comment yourself, in the app, from its menu.
Your rating and results are part of how matchmaking and ratings work, so they can only be removed by deleting the whole account. We handle these requests within 30 days too.
